‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ Wraps Filming

After more than five months of shooting, director Rian Johnson has officially announced that production on Star Wars: Episode VIII has finally wrapped. Earlier today, Johnson took over the official Star Wars Twitter page to share the following post and confirm that he has wrapped filming on his upcoming movie, meaning that Mark Hamill was indeed telling the truth about the wrap date of the project. You can check out his tweet below.

During Star Wars Celebration 2016, Johnson revealed that the movie begins right where J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens left off, but that’s pretty much the only thing that we know about the project so far. Plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, so until we get the first official trailer for the movie, we’ll just have to wait and see what Johnson has in store for us.

Starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Laura Dern, Kelly Marie Tran and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars: Episode VIII opens in theaters on December 15, 2017. Are you looking forward to the movie?
