‘Star Wars’: First Look At ‘The Mandalorian’ Revealed As Production Begins

Lucasfilm has officially revealed the first look at the new Star Wars series The Mandalorian along with announcing the beginning of production on the Jon Favreau Series.

In addition, Star Wars Rebels creator Dave Filoni has been confirmed to direct the first episode along with Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) directing additional episodes of the 10 episode first season.

The new series has been written by Favreau. He also serves as executive producer along with, Filoni, Colin Wilson, and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. Karen Gilchrist will co-executive produce. Here’s the official synopsis:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The new series will debut exclusively on Disney’s upcoming direct to consumer streaming service, which is expected to launch by the end of 2019. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the Star Wars franchise as we learn it.
