On Saturday afternoon, Mark Hamill tweeted out what is believed to be the first ever picture of Luke Skywalker on the set of the first Star Wars film.
Decades later after that picture was taken, Star Wars is arguably the biggest property out there, but that wasn’t always the case. Many of the cast and crew doubted what was being filmed, as something on this scale had never been made. No one anticipated this sort of success to come from the film, but here we are, as Star Wars dominates almost every market that is related to film.
This year’s Star Wars Celebration, which is in Orlando, will be commemorating the 40 year anniversary of the original film. It’s also expected that we’ll see our first look at the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi, along with other reveals. The event kicks off on April 13th and will end on the 16th. Be sure to check back then to see the latest info on your favorite franchise in a galaxy far, far away.
Directed by Rian Johnson, Star Wars: The Last Jedi stars Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Carrie Fisher, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, and newcomers to the franchise Benicio del Toro and Laura Dern.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas on December 15th, 2017.
