‘Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’ Sequel Reportedly In Development

Electronic Arts is reportedly already developing a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order at Respawn Entertainment.

Last year’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order surprised fans and critics alike with just how good it was. EA’s two previous games in the franchise were not well received by fans or critics. Star Wars: Battlefront was criticized by fans and critics alike for its lack of content and expensive Season Pass. Star Wars: Battlefront II was likewise panned for it heavy reliance on the highly controversial Loot Box system that many called a glorified gamboling mechanic. Because of this, fan faith in any EA owned Star Wars project was low, to say the least. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, however, blew everyone’s expectations out of the water.

Since its release, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has sold well over 8M copies exceeding Electronic Arts’ original projections of 6M. The game was also praised by critics earning a 79 rating average on Metacritic for the PS4 and 80 for the Xbox One and was nominated for several Game of the Year awards. Now Electronic Arts has tasked Respawn Entertainment with developing a sequel.

In a recent report from Kotaku, site editor Jason Schreier broke down the various Star Wars projects that had started development before being canceled by EA. This included the infamous cancellation of the Visceral Games Star Wars project, a Star Wars: Battlefront spinoff, titled Viking and another known as Orca.  But this report also mentions that a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is in development. Sadly this report doesn’t give any details on when this sequel would be released or what it would be about.

What do you all make of this news? Are you glad to hear that a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is in development? What did you think of the first game? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
