Variety reports that Abrams is looking to work with a studio that will grant him massive opportunities that include “films, television series, digital content, music, games, consumer products, and theme park opportunities.” Variety also reports that Abrams is receiving pitches from Disney,Universal and Warner Bros. Entertainment.
Abrams’ current business is split between Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. Television. The prolific filmmaker and his team are looking for one company to consolidate under and may receive a significant payment as a result of this new venture.
Abrams has an impressive filmography as a director under his belt. The journeyman has directed Mission: Impossible III, Star Trek (2009), Super 8, Star Trek Into Darkness, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX.
Along with his career in cinema, Abrams is also known as a prominent force in television. He has his name on numerous television series including Lost, Alias, Felicity, Fringe, Person of Interest, Westworld and Castle Rock.
