'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' will feature a plethora of new vehicles, including new police speeders that will be featured in the new planet of Canto Bight.
One of the film’s most exciting new destinations is the world of Canto Bight, which has been described as a casino-type destination within the galaxy where much of the affluent and elite visit.
Resistance heroes Finn (John Boyega) and Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) will find themselves visiting Canto Bight during their mission in the film along with Poe Dameron’s trusty droid, BB-8 accompanying them on their adventure.
In Canto Bight, one of the new vehicles introduced in the film is a speeder used by the police on the planet.
Entertainment Weekly’s Anthony Breznican recently explored the Canto Bight Police Speeder in a special video. Breznican describes the speeder as a cross between personal helicopters and a mall cop segway.
The speeders are not meant for use in high atmosphere travel, and are described to hover close to the ground and are meant for easy pursuit for the Canto Bight Police to capture any suspects. Interestingly enough, there is no space for captured prisoners on the vehicle, which Breznican speculates may be due to Canto Bight’s potential “take no prisoners” attitude.
The Canto Bight Police Speeder is also available as a new toy from Hasbro. The toy also includes a police figure.
You can see these new speeders utilized during Finn, Rose and BB-8’s mission on Canto Bight when the film finally opens in theaters in two weeks.
Written and directed by Rian Johnson, the film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio del Toro.
