‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ CinemaCon Footage Teases Rey & Lightsaber

Tonight during Disney's presentation at CinemaCon, Lucasfilm non-chalantly revealed new footage from Star Wars: The Last Jedi during a sizzle reel.

Tonight during Disney’s presentation at CinemaCon, Lucasfilm non-chalantly revealed new footage from the upcoming 8th chapter of the Skywalker saga, Star Wars: The Last Jedi during a Disney sizzle reel.

The new footage seen at CinemaCon featured Rey on what looked to be Ahch-To wielding the Skywalker lightsaber.

Official details on the plot are still under wraps, however, The Last Jedi will pick up directly where The Force Awakens left off. The film will dig deeper into the new characters introduced in Episode VII as it explores Kylo Ren’s humanity as well as how Rey deals with the discovery of the force inside her. FN-2187 himself, John Boyega, has said that director Rian Johnson has managed to craft a Star Wars film that has an “indie movie” feel.

The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, Kelly Marie Tran, and Andy Serkis.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15, 2017.
