‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ To Release Early In The UK

Lucasfilm has revealed the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been moved up ahead of the film's theatrical release in the United States.

Lucasfilm has revealed the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been moved up to December 14, 2017, one day ahead of the film’s theatrical release in the United States.

The news that the eighth installment of the Skywalker saga would hit theaters one day early across the pond broke today (h/t Radio Times), tasking those in Britain once again with the responsibility of not spoiling the film for American audiences.

Releasing the film a day early in the UK has become a bit of a tradition for the Star Wars films in the new era of the franchise as both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hit theaters one day before their respective releases in North America. Fans in the states will once again have to resort to a total internet blackout otherwise risk learning Rey’s parentage or whether or not Luke still has his green lightsaber in a comments section.

The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, Kelly Marie Tran,  Lupita Nyong’o, and Andy Serkis.
