‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Director Rian Johnson Teases Opening Crawl

Yesterday fans rejoiced after the title for the next chapter of the Star Wars saga was officially announced. Though some had correctly guessed the title beforehand, it is always exciting when fans can officially put a name to a new installment of the Star Wars franchise. Director Rian Johnson was apparently excited as well, but perhaps for a different reason as the director posted a behind-the-scenes image of something he was finally able to add to an early cut of the film now that the title is no longer a secret.

The image is taken from the editing room and includes the beginning of the opening crawl for The Last Jedi. Rian Johnson captioned the image:

“Felt so good to drop this into the cut this morning.”

Introduced to the Star Wars saga are newcomers Laura Dern, Kelly Marie Tran and Benicio del Toro.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released in theaters on December 15, 2017.
