'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' director Rian Johnson reveals that the film will not feature a romance in the vein of the Han Solo/Leia relationship.
While fans have proposed a number of new pairings involving the characters introduced in The Force Awakens, director Rian Johnson told Vanity Fair that The Last Jedi will not feature a romance as a key element to the film’s plot:
“[There will be] no one-to-one equivalent of the Han-to-Leia, burning, unrequited love. In our story, that’s not a centerpiece.”
Sounds as though fans hoping for romance to develop between their favorite characters, including Finn and Poe, may be disappointed. Although, the fact that a romance will not be central to the film does not exclude a nod to any potential romantic parings, at least in my estimation.
