‘Star Wars’: ‘Avengers 4’ Directors Reunite With Taika Waititi, Jon Favreau On ‘The Mandalorian’ Set

Avengers: Infinity directors Joe & Anthony Russo reunited with other Marvel Cinematic Universe filmmakers on the set of The Mandalorian, Lucasfilm’s live-action Star Wars television series for Disney Plus.

Production on The Mandalorian is currently underway and Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe & Anthony Russo joined Ant-Man and the Wasp helmer Peyton Reed in a visit to the set. The occasion allowed for a reunion between the aforementioned directors and their fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe filmmaker Jon Favreau and Taika Waititi. Of course, Favreau is known for directing the first two Iron Man films and portraying Happy Hogan while Waititi helmed the acclaimed Thor: Ragnarok.

Jon Favreau is serving as a writer and executive producer on The Mandalorian while Taikia Waititi will be one of the directors for the Star Wars show.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal and Gina Carano.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian will be written by Jon Favreau, who serves as an executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist is also on board as a co-executive producer.

Dave Filoni will direct the first episode of the series and additional episodes will be helmed by Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard, Dope director Rick Famuyiwa, and Jessica Jones episode director Deborah Chow.

The Mandalorian will be available exclusively on Disney Plus.
