During Disney’s earnings call, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger revealed that a Cassian Andor live-action series is coming to the Disney Plus streaming service. Diego Luna is set to reprise his role as Cassian for the new series set before Rogue One, with production starting next year. The Mandalorian will be the first live-action Star Wars series written by Jon Favreau who also serves as executive producer along with Star Wars Rebels creator Dave Filoni, Colin Wilson, and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. Karen Gilchrist will co-executive produce. In addition to executive producing, Filoni has also been confirmed to direct the first episode with additional episodes helmed by Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The Mandalorian will debut exclusively on Disney Plus, which is expected to launch by the end of 2019.
