A recent report about the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy suggests that we'll be returning to three different planets that were shown in earlier movies.
Star Wars is rumored to revisit a handful of familiar locations over the course of Episode VIII: The Last Jedi and the currently-untitled Episode IX, according to a new report. Potential spoilers ahead.
According to a new report from Star Wars News Net, The Last Jedi and Episode IX will be making a return to at least three planets that were first shown in the other movies. The report speculates that these planets will appear in “Force-Flashback” sequences akin to the one in The Force Awakens, but notes that they may appear in some other way.
These three planets have one thing in common: they all played a crucial role in Anakin Skywalker’s life (respectively, the planet where Anakin lived as a child, the planet where Anakin “died” and was “reborn” as Darth Vader, and the moon where Vader died in orbit of it before Anakin was put to rest on the surface). The other thing that they have in common, according to the source, is that Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker will apparently have visited these worlds in the time leading up to The Force Awakens – Kylo for the purpose of learning more about the Sith and Darth Vader especially, and Luke to gain a much better understanding of the goals and intentions of the original Jedi – and they may be visited during the present of the Sequel Trilogy. More details are available on the original post.
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi will unleash the Force on December 15, 2017. The currently-untitled Han Solo movie will be released on May 25, 2018. Episode IX does not currently have a release date, but it is expected to arrive in 2019.
