‘Star Wars’: Ron Howard Teases Mysterious Symbols In ‘Han Solo’ Film

Since assuming directorial duties on the Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story, veteran filmmaker Ron Howards has shared a number of behind-the-scenes images from the upcoming film, but his latest post may be the most perplexing tease to date.

Posted on his offical Twitter account, the image features a piece of ruins with three mysterious symbols carved into the stone. Howard’s inclusion of the hashtag “#McQuarrie” is undoubtedly a reference to concept artist Ralph McQuarrie, which has prompted fans to speculate that McQuarrie’s early designs for the original Star Wars film could be incorporated into the upcoming spin-off. Several fans have noted that the symbols are remarkably similar to the writings on a column featured in McQuarrie’s illustration of a Yavin 4 location named the Temple of the Blueleaf Cluster, though fans may have to wait until the film is released next summer to find out the true meaning behind the symbols.

Details on the Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story’s plot are currently unknown, though the film will chronicle the adventures of the smuggler during his youth and will include his first meeting with Chewbacca and how came to possess the Millennium Falcon.
