Obi-Wan Kenobi was the original Force Ghost, appearing as one in the second Star Wars movie ever released. A new short story will explain how he got there.
Cavan Scott, one of the forty authors working on the forty short stories in a new Star Wars book commemorating the fortieth anniversary of the Star Wars franchise, has just revealed that his story will take place from Obi-Wan Kenobi’s perspective. “If you strike me down, I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.” were the defining words that the Jedi Master spoke before his fallen apprentice killed him. However, from the sound of things, Obi-Wan coming back into consciousness so soon after he died is an experience he describes as being disorienting:
Fans have largely clamored for more Obi-Wan-focused stories following Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm – something that may very well be addressed in the form of a spin-off movie that Ewan McGregor will probably star in. But a story focused on the Alec Guiness version Obi-Wan – and one that’s set after Obi-Wan became one with the Force – seems like a very interesting idea that’s worth exploring as the Galaxy Far, Far Away expands its horizons.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi will rise on December 15, 2017. The movie’s cast includes Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa, Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Lupita Nyong’o as Maz Kanata, Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico, Laura Dern as Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, Andy Serkis as Supreme Leader Snoke, Domhnall Gleeson as General Armitage Hux, Benicio Del Toro as “DJ”, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, and Jimmy Vee as R2-D2.
