New ‘Star Wars: Squadrons’ Poster Gives Off ‘Top Gun’ Vibes

A brand-new poster for Star Wars: Squadrons has been released and gives off some serious Top Gun vibes.

Before artwork for Star Wars: Squadrons leaked on the official Xbox website, it was rumored for sometime that EA Motive was developing a game centered on flight combat. Speculation about EA Motive’s game started when it was revealed that it was going by Project Maverick, a reference to Tom Cruise’s character in Top Gun. While EA has faced criticism from fans on their handling of the license in the past, they are coming off the heels of Jedi: Fallen Order, which was a success both critically and financially.

Following the leak of Star Wars: Squadrons, EA confirmed the game with a poster and the announcement a trailer release on Monday. The upcoming game is also expected to have a presence at EA Play Live next week. In anticipation of the official trailer premiere, EA has released another poster that looks inspired by Top Gun with an X-Wing, a pilot, and the tagline, “Pilots Wanted.” You can check out the brand new Star Wars: Squadrons poster below.
