While production in the entertainment industry came to a halt in March, Chapek confirmed to CNBC “there will be no delay on Mandalorian,” given post-production has been able to continue on the series in the midst of the current crisis. Principal photography wrapped in early March, just before COVID-19 forced businesses to shut down in the United States.
The second season of The Mandalorian is set to arrive on Disney Plus in the fall of 2020. While official plot details remain under wraps, the series will reportedly feature Rosario Dawson taking on the role of Ahsoka Tano in live-action, along with Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, as Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) seeks to unite The Child with force sensitives like himself.
The second season of the first-ever live-action Star Wars series will see episodes directed by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Peyton Reed, Carl Weathers, and Robert Rodriguez. In addition to Dawson and Morrison, The Mandalorian will also feature Michael Biehn (Terminator) along with the return of Bill Burr and Giancarlo Esposito.
Here is the official synopsis for The Mandalorian:
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte. The Star Wars series was written by Jon Favreau, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist is also on board as a co-executive producer.
The Mandalorian season one is now available exclusively on Disney Plus. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the Star Wars franchise as it develops and you can also subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content in the future!
