‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’ Officially Crosses $1B Worldwide

Disney and Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker crossed the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office.

While Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has received mixed reactions from fans, that hasn’t stopped moviegoers from flocking to theaters to see the final chapter of the main saga on more than one occasion in some cases. Now, the conclusion to the nine-film Star Wars saga has earned an impressive $481.3 domestically and $519.7 million internationally for a worldwide gross of $1.001 billion.

With this worldwide total, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has become Disney’s 7th 2019 release to reach the billion-dollar milestone and the 9th film of the year overall to do so. Having now crossed the mark, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the fourth film in the franchise to earn over $1 billion under Disney, though it is still behind The Last Jedi by 15% in terms of offshore gross.
