J. J. Abrams Reveals First Spoken Word In ‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’

J. J. Abrams revealed the first word spoken in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

With Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker less than a month away from hitting theaters, fans are eager to see how the film will conclude the nine-part saga that began all the way back in 1977. Of course, Disney and Lucasfilm are keeping a tight lid on the details in hopes of keeping the secrets of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker under wraps until it’s released.

However, J. J. Abrams did reveal one new detail about Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker during his recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. When asked what the first word said in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be, J. J. Abrams replied,”‘At.’ […] and there are, like, six or seven words that follow.” Before revealing the word, J. J. Abrams clarified that this is the first word spoken, not the first one featured in the opening crawl for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Here is the official synopsis for J. J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker:

Lucasfilm and director J. J. Abrams join forces once again to take viewers on an epic journey to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the riveting conclusion of the seminal Skywalker saga, where new legends will be born and the final battle for freedom is yet to come.

Directed by J. J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Ian McDiarmid, and Billy Dee Williams. Carrie Fisher will appear as General Leia Organa through the use of previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be released in theaters on December 19, 2019.
