Original Trilogy Character Rumored To Return In ‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’

Star Wars The Rise Of Skywalker Wedge The Skywalker Saga

Star Wars The Rise Of Skywalker WedgeStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalker may see the unexpected return of a character from the original trilogy.

Disney’s Star Wars sequel trilogy has seen the return of the main players from the original trilogy along with other characters like Nien Nunb and Admiral Ackbar. The Rise of Skywalker will see the return of Billy Dee Williams’ Lando Calrissian, but there may be another familiar face in the upcoming film.

Before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters in December, a novel titled Resistance Reborn will fill in the gap between The Last Jedi and the final film of the saga. A Spanish cover of Resistance Reborn surfaced and features Denis Lawson as an old Wedge Antilles. Rebel Force Radio later reported that Denis Lawson will return as Wedge in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. You can check out the cover with an older Wedge from Twitter below!

Denis Lawson’s return as Wedge is a surprise, given his stance on Star Wars in recent years. The actor even said he declined to return for The Force Awakens. Denis Lawson’s Wedge appeared in all three films of the original trilogy. The actor is also the uncle of Ewan McGregor.
