‘Stargirl’ Adds Lou Ferrigno Jr. As Justice Society Co-Founder Hourman

TVLine reports that Lou Ferrigno Jr. has been cast as Justice Society of America co-founder Hourman in DC Universe’s Stargirl.

S.W.A.T. star Lou Ferrigno Jr. joins the cast of Stargirl in a recurring guest role of Rex Tyler, the Golden Age version of Hourman who gains superhuman strength and speed for one hour a day after taking a dose of the Miraclo vitamin. In the comics, Hourman is one of the founding members of the Justice Society of America, a superhero team that will play a key role in the upcoming DC Universe series.

High school sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new DC Universe series reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a fun, exciting and unpredictable series premiering in 2019, produced by Warner Bros. Television, Mad Ghost Productions and Berlanti Productions.

Stargirl stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitemore and Joel McHale as Starman with Anjelika Washington, Yvette Monreal, and Christopher James in undisclosed roles. Geoff Johns will write and executive produce the 13-episode first season of Stargirl. Sarah Schechter and Arrowverse boss Greg Berlanti will also serve as executive producers on the series.

Stargirl is scheduled to debut on DC Universe in August 2019.
