‘Stargirl’ Sets Official Premiere Dates For DC Universe & The CW

DC Universe and The CW have set May premiere dates for Stargirl.

Last year, it was reported that episodes of Stargirl would air on The CW following their debut on the DC Universe streaming service. Now, Stargirl will officially premiere on DC Universe on May 11, 2020, before airing on The CW on May 12.

DC Universe subscribers will have access to additional exclusive offerings tied to Stargirl, with new episodes being released on a weekly basis. Following the linear broadcast, each episode will be available to stream on The CW’s digital platforms, with the full season being available on those services after the season finale as well.

Stargirl won’t be the only DC Universe series to be available on two platforms. Last year, fans learned that the second season of DC Universe’s Doom Patrol will also air on HBO Max, with the first season being added to the upcoming WarnerMedia streaming service once season 2 begins.

Here is the official synopsis for Stargirl:

High school sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new DC Universe series reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a fun, exciting and unpredictable series premiering in 2019, produced by Warner Bros. Television, Mad Ghost Productions and Berlanti Productions.

Stargirl stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitemore, Joel McHale as Starman,  Luke Wilson as Pat Dugan, and Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman. The series also stars Amy Smart, Trae Romano, Cameron Gellman, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Meg DeLacy, Neil Jackson, Jake Austin Walker, Christopher James Baker, and Hunter Sansone. Geoff Johns will write and executive produce the 13-episode first season of Stargirl while Sarah Schechter and Arrowverse boss Greg Berlanti will also serve as executive producers on the series.

Stargirl is scheduled to debut on DC Universe and The CW in 2020.
