Stephen Amell And David Ramsey Discuss Their Favorite ‘Arrow’ Villains

In the four seasons of Arrow that have been on the air, we have seen a large number of villains all delivered with varying degrees of success. The show has seen its fair share of duds (I won’t ever forgive them for what they did to Brother Eye), but for every few villains that don’t hit their mark, there is a stand out among them. The Dollmaker, Solomon Grundy, Brother Blood, Anarky, and Deadshot are all villains that left more of a significant impact on the show, and then there are the big-bads: Malcolm Merlyn, Deathstroke, Ra’s al-Ghul, and Damien Darhk, all of which were highly successful in their own right.

During a Q&A panel at this summer’s Salt Lake City Comic-Con, Arrow stars Stephen Amell and David Ramsey were asked about their favorite villains from the series.

David Ramsey (John Diggle) was the first to answer the question:

“For me, I think it’s someplace between China White and Deadshot.”

Diggle has had a history with Deadshot throughout the series, so it is no wonder that Ramsey would hold him in high regard.

Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen) was next up to answer the question:

“It’s just Deathstroke. It is what it is.”

It’s no surprise that Amell has the same soft spot for Deathstroke that Diggle has for Deadshot, as Oliver and Slade’s relationship was the main story-arc throughout the entire first two seasons. Manu Bennett’s portrayal of Slade Wilson helped propel Arrow‘s second season to becoming a fan favorite. It may have been too good, as the show is having a tough time trying to keep up with how good it used to be, but that is a topic for another article.

Jack of some trades, master of some others. That saying never really made a lot of sense to me.
