Over the past weekend, Zack Snyder took part in a panel at a screening event for the director’s cuts of a few of his projects, including Batman v Superman. At one point, Zack Snyder responded to critics of his decision to have the Dark Knight kill people by telling fans they need to “wake up” and that they’re “living in a f—–g dream world” if they think heroes are innocent, prompting a wave of backlash from many. Now, Stephen Colbert has weighed in on Zack Snyder’s comments by reminding him that these DC characters are beloved children’s icons and mocked his stance on Batman killing people:
“Zack, these are beloved children’s characters! ‘Aquaman sells opiates and The Flash is a human trafficker. Walk it off! The whole Justice League is addicted to snuff porn. Grow up!”

Batman is set to return to big screen in a new film directed by Matt Reeves. Plot details for the project are currently under wraps, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and includes multiple villains. Matt Reeves also confirmed that it will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC Films.
The DCEU’s Batman was last seen in 2017’s Justice League. Here’s the official synopsis for the Zack Snyder movie:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD.
