Steve Carrell Imagined As Penguin For Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’

We’ve had many pieces about who could look great as the Caped Crusader for Matt Reeves’ upcoming film, but what about his villains? Well, recently, an artist imagined Steve Carrell as The Penguin for The Batman.

Many great DC Comics villain have shown up in Batman films, but Penguin sure made an impact in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns. The character was famously played by Danny DeVito and he had audiences hooked on his portrayal. It was a different kind of story being told for a comic book film and gave Penguin more depth. Now, a fan artist has revealed how Steve Carrell could look as The Penguin. Check out the piece below.

Steve Carrell is best known for portraying Michael Scott in the television comedy The Office, but the actor has also stepped into more dramatic roles and shown that he has range. The artwork seems to have some of Steve Carrell’s seriousness captured with a tuxedo similar to the villain’s comic book look. Carrell would be an interesting choice for The Penguin that may help intrigue more audiences. Fans and critics even praised the actor’s capabilities for his performance in Foxcatcher, which was a type of film the actor had not been a part of before. Perhaps, Carrell may also be interested in doing a comic book movie.

What do you think of this look? Do you think Steve Carrell would be a good choice for The Penguin? Share your thoughts below!

Plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and includes multiple villains. Matt Reeves also confirmed that it will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous films.

The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
