The Pacific Rim Uprising director and former Daredevil showrunner has expressed interest in directing the second Superman chapter, Man Of Steel 2
But, that isn’t stopping fans from seeking out interested candidates. The latest person to join the pool is none other than Steven S. DeKnight, director of the upcoming Pacific Rim Uprising. Having proven himself with runaway hits such as Spartacus and Netflix and Marvel’s Daredevil, Steven S. DeKnight is not a stranger to the world of comics. While kaiju-robot blockbuster is still about two months away, fans on twitter have already put the spotlight on him by asking if he would be up for directing a Superman sequel. His answer?
DeKnight would definitely be an interesting addition to the DCEU, having proven his versatility with both small and large scale story telling mediums and a focus on character driven narratives. While it would be a fan’s wish come true for a comic book fan like DeKnight to tackle one of pop-culture’s most beloved icons like Superman, the final decision rests with Warner Bros. Here’s hoping they’re following DeKnight on twitter.
DeKnight’s directorial debut, Pacific Rim Uprising releases on March 23rd, 2018 and is written by DeKnight, T.S. Nowlin, Kira Snyder and Emily Carmichael. The film is a sequel to the 2013 film Pacific Rim, that was directed by Guillermo Del Toro. It stars John Boyega, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Burn Gorman, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, Adria Arjona and Nick E. Tarabay.
