‘Beauty And The Beast’ Featurette Reveals Dan Stevens’ Transformation

Disney has released a new featurette ahead of the home release of the live-action adaptation of the animated classic Beauty and the Beast.

Disney has released a new featurette ahead of the home release of the live-action adaptation of the animated classic Beauty and the Beast.

The Beauty of a Tale” featurette takes us behind the scenes of the production and reveals the transformation Dan Stevens underwent to become the beast in the tale as old as time. Stevens along with director Bill Condon dish on the facial capture used which Condon explains was able to catch every muscle movement and every twitch in order to bring that through to the performance.

The film stars Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as Le Fou, Ewan McGregor as Lumière, Sir Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Kevin Kline as Belle’s father Maurice, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette. Here’s the official synopsis:

Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action adaptation of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.Beauty and the Beast hits theaters March 17, 2017.
