Stranger Things took the world by storm when it was released on Netflix last summer, so its fans are anxiously awaiting for any news regarding its second season, which is currently in production for a release later this year.

EW recently had the chance to speak with Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer to talk about their plans for the series, which they currently think will last about four or five seasons, though that’s subject to change. Here’s what they had to say:

“Everything changes as we move forward so we’ll see,” says Ross Duffer. Adds Matt Duffer, “I want it to have a really finite ending. I don’t want it to be one of those shows that runs out of gas and they lose it because they’re losing interest. You wanna end when you’re on top.”

Ross added that he hopes the second season will feel like a long movie of sorts, which was one of the things that was so great about the first one.

“Hopefully you’ll come to the end of season 2 and feel fully satisfied and want more but you’ll feel like it has come to a conclusion. But also we’ve laid the ground work for further seasons.”

In addition, Netflix has released a brand new image from season two, giving us our first look at Sadie Sink as Max alongside Dustin, Joyce and her son, Will. See it below.

Stranger Things debuts its second season on Netflix this Halloween. Here’s the latest synopsis, which was revealed with last week’s Super Bowl teaser:

A year after Will’s return, everything seems back to normal… but a darkness lurks just beneath the surface, threatening all of Hawkins.
