‘Suicide Squad’ Director David Ayer Says Jared Leto’s Joker Performance Was ‘Ripped Out’

David Ayer recently took to Twitter to tell fans that Jared Leto’s Joker performance was ripped out of Suicide Squad.

After fans felt triumphant with the news that the Snyder Cut of Justice League will arrive on HBO Max next year, their attention quickly turned to campaigning to see the David Ayer’s original version of Suicide Squad. The director has opened up on what the film originally contained, revealing new scenes involving Katana and explaining that he worked with Zack Snyder to make sure their storylines synced up.

Most recently, the Suicide Squad director told fans on Twitter that Leto was mistreated in the film and stated that no one has seen his true performance. The director went as far to say that Jared Leto’s Joker was “ripped out.” Ayer previously praised the actor’s work on bringing the Clown Prince of Crime to life, calling his performance “rich and dimensional.” Take a look at Ayer discussing the performance on Twitter below.
