‘Suicide Squad’ Concept Art For King Shark Surfaces Online

Concept art from the first Suicide Squad film showcases a very interesting design for the DC Comics villain King Shark that didn’t end up getting used.

Suicide Squad had some very interesting characters join Amanda Waller’s team of the worst of the worst. One character that almost made the team was King Shark. This nasty looking fish man was cut because of the heavy demand of CGI it would have taken to bring him to life. Now some concept art from Suicide Squad by Peter Mitchell Rubin has surfaced online, revealing the character’s look for the movie. You can check out the image below.

While this design does look like fun and could have provided some comic relief in the film, it was probably a good idea to scrap this one considering how poorly the film turned out. A sequel is on the way and it is possible to conceive this design being used. Especially since Aquaman is coming out and because of all the interesting sea creatures we will see in that movie. Either way, King Shark needs to make his big screen debut sooner than later.

What are your thoughts on this King Shark design? Would you like to see him in the Suicide Squad 2 lineup? please share your thoughts in the comments below.

Suicide Squad 2 is one of many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC Films, including The BatmanThe Flash standalone film, Green Lantern CorpsBirds of PreyBlack AdamCyborgNightwingSupergirl, New Gods and a Joker origin movie set outside of the DC Extended Universe.
