Late last month, satire page Le Cinéphiles shared a post stating Don Cheadle was in talks to replace Will Smith as Deadshot in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Of course, the report is merely a joke, but fans still had thoughts on just the idea of Don Cheadle taking over the role from Will Smith and not all of them were positive. However, Don Cheadle appears to be amused by the fan complaints and took to his official Twitter account to respond to how fans have reacted.

The news may be a joke, but how would you feel if Don Cheadle replaced Will Smith? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
The first Suicide Squad featured an ensemble cast that included Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Jared Leto as The Joker, all three of whom were expected to reprise their roles in the sequel before James Gunn became involved in the project. Although Suicide Squad earned mixed reviews, at best, the film became a box office hit for DC with a worldwide gross of $750 million.
The Suicide Squad is one of many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC Films, including The Batman, The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Birds of Prey, Black Adam, Cyborg, Nightwing, Supergirl, New Gods, a Deathstroke film, and a Joker origin movie set outside of the DCEU.
