New Super Bowl Ad Reveals Alex Winter’s Old Bill For ‘Bill And Ted Face The Music’

A new Super Bowl ad has given us a new look at Alex Winter’s Old Bill for the upcoming film, Bill and Ted Face the Music.

It’s been almost thirty years since we last saw Alex Winter in a Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey film. Since then the careers of stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have taken drastically different directions. Keanu Reeves went on to become a big action star while Alex Winter’s decided to do more behind the scenes work. Since his appearance in Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, Alex Winter has mostly worked as a director on various television shows and documentaries. But he clearly couldn’t resist the chance to come back to the role that he is undeniably best known for. Now we have our first look at the character in action thanks to a new Super Bowl commercial.

The Super Bowl commercial itself sadly isn’t one for Bill and Ted Face the Music but is entertaining all the same. The Super Bowl ad is actually a Walmart commercial that features many appearances by iconic movie characters. In the Super Bowl ad, Alex Winter’s Old Bill makes his appearance alongside a younger version of himself, commenting on how awesome the future is.

Here is the synopsis for Bill and Ted Face the Music:

“The stakes are higher than ever for the time-traveling exploits of William ‘Bill’ S. Preston Esq. and Theodore ‘Ted’ Logan. Yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny, the now middle aged best friends set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it. Along the way, they will be helped by their daughters, a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends – to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe.”

Directed by Dean Parisot from a script written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, Bill and Ted Face the Music stars Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, William Sadler, Brigette Lundy-Paine, and Samara Weaving.

Bill and Ted Face the Music is scheduled to be released in theaters on August 21, 2020.
