Superman (Tyler Hoechlin)
Kara’s well-known cousin, who was heavily teased in season one, now has an actor attached to the role. Set images that have already been released showing off the new Man of Steel point to Superman being a key figure going into Supergirl‘s second season. Andrew Kreisberg went into detail about Clark and Kara’s similarities and relationship:
“Both of them have a bit of sadness about them, they both have that sense of feeling alone, they both have that sense of feeling different, and both of them remark that that loneliness, that alienation, that isolation goes away when they are together.”
Both Superman and Supergirl are the last of their kind, and only have one another left. Expect season two to explore that bond even further. Kreisberg also notes that Kara’s Earth sister, Alex, will struggle over the pair bonding.
