Speaking to ComicBook.com, showrunner Robert Rovner had the following to say about this year’s big crossover:
“It’s a true four-part crossover that will start [with Supergirl] and be on this fall. And that’s all we can say about it. It’s going to be super.”
Co-showrunner Jessica Queller concurred as she said:
“It’s going to be awesome! Best crossover ever!”
So as the Supergirl showrunners discussed this large scale crossover, the actors also decided to get in on some of the fun. Joking about the number of shows and characters participating, Mehcad Brooks, who plays Jimmy Olsen, joked:
“We’re going to have a new series called Crossover. And it’s only going to be crossovers. Like Jane the Virgin [would become] Jane the Super Virgin.”
It sounds like fans can expect quite an event when all the heroes are brought together this season.
Ridding National City of Queen Rhea and her Daxamite army was a major win for Supergirl, but one that came at a significant cost, as Kara was forced to sacrifice her budding relationship with Mon-El. When season three returns with all-new supercharged adventures this fall on The CW, Kara and team will come up against a new threat in the form of DC Worldkiller, Reign.
Supergirl season three will premiere on Monday, October 9 at 8/7c on The CW with the crossover scheduled later this fall.
