Series star Melissa Benoist opened up to TVLine about the tensions that the situation will cause.
The way she finds out the truth is not the way she would want to find out — and not just because it’s a secret Mon-El (Chris Wood) has kept from her this whole time. Tensions are high. Daxamites and Kryptonians don’t really get along. Kara and Mon-El found common ground through the kindness in their hearts, but [the new arrivals] are much more set in their ways, so it’s difficult. It’s definitely a wrench in the gears.
And it seems like love is getting complicated for not only Kara, but for Winn as well. The tech specialist has found something special with an alien named Lyra, but he won’t be very happy when she uses him to commit a crime. Actor Jeremy Jordan discussed how their newfound relationship will hit a speed bump.
She uses Winn to break into an art museum, saying, like, ‘Hey we’re just gonna have fun’ — and they do have fun. Winn is feeling very deceived by Lyra, somebody he’s put his full trust in and fallen very fast and very hard for. It goes down a pretty dark path. Winn and Lyra’s future is definitely up in the air after this big deception.
Obviously, the feeling of betrayal will flow over into the musical crossover episode on The Flash the next night.
TERI HATCHER (“DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES,” “LOIS & CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN”) AND KEVIN SORBO (“HERCULES”) GUEST STAR; DARREN CRISS (“GLEE”) MAKES HIS DEBUT AS THE MUSIC MEISTER – A new villain (guest star Teri Hatcher) comes to National City, putting Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) on high alert. Meanwhile, Winn’s (Jeremy Jordan) girlfriend, Lyra (guest star Tamzin Merchant), gets Winn in trouble with the law. John Medlen directed the episode written by Katie Rose Rogers & Jess Kardos (#216). Original airdate 3/20/2017.
Supergirl airs on Mondays at 8/7c on The CW.
