In a new video promoting the Season 2 premiere of ‘Supergirl’, there’s a throwaway line that lands a punch with anyone familiar with Batman.
When asked about the reference, Ali Adler had a few word to say about the connection to the wider DC Comics universe.
“We have this beautiful history with DC, and I like that we get to borrow from this amazing, wonderful canon that we have. I feel like we have our hands full with the crossover we’re shooting right now. I think people will be satisfied with how much crossover they’re getting this season.”
That’s not to say that we won’t be seeing more connective tissue between universes. Especially since a Bat-Family character will be making her debut on Season 2. Played by Floriana Lima, Maggie Sawyer will be coming to the show.
“Now, in Season Two, Kara has left the safety of being Cat Grant’s assistant in order to figure out what she really wants to do, while as Supergirl she continues to work at the DEO., protecting the citizens of National City and searching for Jeremiah and Cadmus. Along the way, she will team up with Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) to battle new villains, as she strives to balance her personal life with her life as a superhero.”
‘Supergirl’ Season 2 debuts on Monday, Oct. 10 on The CW.
