‘Supergirl’ 2.16 ‘Star-Crossed’ Ratings Tie Season/Series Low

Last night’s episode of Supergirl revealed the truth about Mon-El, introduced his parents, Rhea (Teri Hatcher) and Lar (Kevin Sorbo), delved deeper into the Winn-Lyra dynamic, included a breakup, and ended with the Music Meister (Darren Criss) making his appearance felt in a big way before tonight’s SupergirlThe Flash musical episode. There was a lot to take in.

Despite all of the developments, it seems fans weren’t particularly feeling the Supergirl vibe last night, opting for more heavy hitters like The Voice and Dancing with the Stars. Screener is reporting that the episode tied the season and series low in terms of ratings. Drawing in 2.02 million viewers and 0.6 demo rating, the numbers are down from last week.

Supergirl continues next Monday with the episode “Distant Sun,” the second episode this season directed by Kevin Smith.

“Distant Sun” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

LYNDA CARTER RETURNS AS PRESIDENT MARSDIN; KEVIN SMITH DIRECTS – A large bounty is put out on Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and aliens from far and near attack National City intent on taking out the woman of steel. Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) run into Maggie’s ex-girlfriend, Emily (guest star Hayley Sales), who is in town for a week. Hank (David Harewood) gets an interesting order from President Marsdin (guest star Lynda Carter). Kevin Smith directed the episode written by Gabriel Llanas & Anna Musky-Goldwyn (#217). Original airdate 3/27/2017.”

Supergirl airs on Monday at 8:00 pm ET on The CW. Be sure to check back with Heroic Hollywood after each episode for our review.
