Superman To Debut In ’Supergirl’ Season 2

During the first season of Supergirl, formerly of CBS, but will now be moving over to The CW for Season 2, one of the major critical remarks was the lack of her super-cousin, Kal-El a.k.a. Superman, the Man of Steel as we only got to see CGI versions of him or a flying figure from the distance.

We have known over the past few years that Superman has been one of the big DC Comics characters that Warner Bros. Pictures hasn’t let TV play with ever since Smallville. But that is all about to change as The Hollywood Reporter revealed today that Superman will be making his debut in Season 2 of Supergirl as they are currently casting an actor for the role.

In a statement to the press, Andrew Kreisberg (executive producer and show-runner of Supergirl, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow) said this about Superman coming to Supergirl:

“Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl. Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!”

As Kreisberg said, Clark/Superman will be showing up in the season two premiere and the second episode as the role is currently being cast by the show’s fine casting director, David Rapaport who works on all the 4 CW DC shows as well as the upcoming Archie Comics series, Riverdale.

Supergirl will be moving to The CW for Season 2 and is set to air on Monday nights at 8/7c starting in October, with a premiere date yet to be announced. Who would you like to see cast as the next Man of Steel for television in Season 2 of Supergirl? Let us know in the comments below!
