Aquaman was released in theaters last month and has been breaking box office records left and right, with the film’s worldwide total making it the second highest-grossing DC Extended Universe movie to date. The film has drawn positive reactions from both critics and casual moviegoers and now fans can add Superman actor Henry Cavill to the list of people that are praising Jason Momoa’s first cinematic solo outing as the King of Atlantis. You can check out the actor’s Instagram post below.
Arthur Curry’s future on the big screen is looking bright as Aquaman is set to swim past Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to become the biggest DC Comics movie since 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises. Warner Bros. has already started discussions about an Aquaman sequel, but Henry Cavill’s future as Superman isn’t looking as bright following rumors that the actor is done playing the character.
Based on characters created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, Aquaman was written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall based on a story by Geoff Johns, James Wan and Beall. Peter Safran and Rob Cowan produced the film, with Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Jon Berg, Geoff Johns and Walter Hamada serving as executive producers.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.
