Henry Cavill Recreates ‘Kingdom Come’ Superman Cover In Awesome Image

Although the DC Extended Universe has had a mixed critical reception overall (with the exceptions of Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Shazam!), some of the franchise’s most devoted fans have remained enthusiastic about Henry Cavill and his portrayal as Superman as depicted in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Henry Cavill has also been heavily used in fan artwork of Superman, such as this recreation of the Kingdom Come cover by digital artist spdrmnkyxxiii.

You can check out the cover down below, which features Henry Cavill posing as the Kingdom Come version of Superman:

Kingdom Come is beloved by many fans for its compelling story by Mark Waid as well as some of the iconic artwork from Alex Ross, which includes an alternate Superman suit design.

Henry Cavill’s future as Superman is currently in question as Warner Bros. is reportedly considering setting the character aside for the time being in order to focus on Supergirl’s introduction to the DC Extended Universe. In the meantime, Henry Cavill will trade in his Superman costume for the lead role on Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher.

Based on the fantasy series of novels and short stories by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher will follow the monster slayer for hire named Geralt of Rivia, played by Henry Cavill. Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich will also serve as an executive producer on the series while Alik Sakharov, Alex Garcia Lopez, and Charlotte Brandstrom are on board as directors for the eight-episode first season.

What do you think of Henry Cavill as the Kingdom Come Superman? Are you a fan of the Kingdom Come comic book miniseries by Mark Waid and Alex Ross? And do you want to see Henry Cavill return as Superman? Let us know in the comments!

Henry Cavill’s take on Superman was last seen in 2017’s Justice League. Here is the official synopsis for the movie:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD.
