Superman & Lois Lane Are Taking A Break From Married Life In DC’s Action Comics

Superman and Lois Lane are taking a break from married life in Brian Michael Bendis’ run on DC’s Action Comics.

The conclusion of Action Comics #1003 revealed that Lois Lane has been living in Metropolis while Superman believed she was in outer space with their son Jon. In Action Comics #1004, Lois Lane explains that she has lost herself in being a mother and wife, expressing a desire to return to her life as an investigative reporter. After revealing that she left Jon with Superman’s biological father Jor-El because she feels he no longer needs her, Lois explains that she believes that same is true for Clark.

While Lois explains that they are not breaking up, the couple will continue the public cover story that they separated due to marriage problems, which they devised to explain Lois and Jon’s absence during their trip in space. Now, Lois will focus her efforts on her journalism career and her investigation into Lex Luthor.

Superman confronts Lois Lane and wants answers: Where is Jon Kent? What happened during Lois’ trip into space with Jor-El? Why didn’t she contact the Man of Steel when she returned? And most importantly, does she still love him? Or is the world-famous reporter looking to let Clark Kent down easy? Lois and Clark’s relationship gets redefined in this issue illustrated by acclaimed artist Ryan Sook!

Written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Ryan Sook, Action Comics #1004 is now available in stores!
