Diamond Comic Distributors announced Action Comics #1000, which featured several Superman stories from writers including Brian Michael Bendis, was the top-selling comic of 2018. The title joined the non-wedding issue of Batman #50 and The Batman Who Laughs #1 on the list of 10 best-selling 2018 issues to help DC become the number two publisher of the year. Marvel Entertainment earned the title of number one publisher of 2018 with seven books claiming spots on the list of top 10 best selling issues. Writer Dan Slott was behind four of those seven titles, with Fantastic Four #1 and Amazing Spider-Man #798–#800 earning spots on the chart.
Marvel’s The Infinity Gauntlet collectors edition reissue was the top-selling graphic novel or collection of 2018, but DC earned more spots on the chart with three titles including Batman: White Knight. Image Comics had six titles earn a place on the chart.
