'The Swamp Thing' co-creator Bernie Wrightson has died from brain cancer has died at 68 in Austin, Texas. He is survived by wife and kids.
Bernie Wrightson, horror comic artist, has died at 68. Wrightson was fighting brain cancer for a long time before losing the battle last night. He passed away in Austin, Texas and is survived by his wife, Liz, two sons, and his stepson.
Wrightson is best known for co-creating the comic, The Swamp Thing and began his career as a horror comics writer back in the 1970s.
His wife made the announcement of his death through his Facebook page, which you can read below.

Legendary comic book artist and illustrator Bernie Wrightson has lost his long battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his wife Liz, sons John and Jeffrey, stepson Thomas, and countless friends and fans. We will have a celebration of life for him later this year.
