Swamp Thing introduced actor Ian Ziering as the superhero named Blue Devil, a character from comics known for fighting the occult. However, viewers’ time with Blue Devil was cut short after DC Universe opted to cancel Swamp Thing before the series completed its first and only season.
Now, concept artist Jerad S. Marantz has taken to his official Instagram account to share his early illustrations for the design of Blue Devil. In his caption, Marantz expressed his regrer over not being able to see more of Blue Devil due to Swamp Thing‘s cancellation, but he also noted that he’s grateful for being able to work with special makeup effects artist Justin Raleigh and his team.
