Actress Jennifer Beals Cast In DC Universe’s ‘Swamp Thing’

DC Universe’s upcoming Swamp Thing series set to be produced by Aquaman director James Wan has added actress Jennifer Beals to the cast. According to DC Comics, Beals will be playing an original character designed for the series.

DC Comics released an official description for Beals’ new character in the announcement of her casting:

“Tough as nails and pragmatic, Sheriff Lucilia Cable’s fierce devotion to her son, Matt, is rivaled only by her sworn duty to serve and protect the town of Marais. As the community she has dedicated her life to defending is beset by strange forces, Lucilia must double down in her efforts to safeguard everyone she holds dear.”

Beals will be joining a cast that includes Crystal Reed as Abby Arcane and Maria Sten as Liz Tremayne. Beals has numerous television credits that include The L Word, The Night Shift, Proof and The Last Tycoon. She has also appeared in films such as Flashdance, The Book of Eli, Runaway Jury and The Grudge 2.
