MGM has announced that 'Creed 2' will be released in November 2018 with Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan returning.
The released date was revealed during a press release announcing the joint venture between MGM and Annapurna Pictures to distribute films theatrically in the United States, where it was stated that the Creed sequel will be released in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the first Creed film continued the Rocky film series with a story centered on the son of Rocky Balboa’s former opponent Apollo Creed, Adonis, who convinces the former World Heavyweight Champion to train him before Rocky faces an entirely different fight of his own. Sylvester Stallone will be sitting in the director’s chair for Creed 2 in addition to producing and starring in the film alongside Michael B. Jordan as the title character.
Stallone earned an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor and won the Golden Globe Award in the same category for his performance in Creed, nearly forty years after receiving Oscar nominations for acting and screenplay for the original Rocky film.
