Some really fascinating concept art for Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' features an early design for Teenage Groot.
Obviously, trying to find the right design for Teenage Groot must have been a fun challenge for the artists. Thankfully, concept artist Anthony Francisco brought some inspiring details that helped create the teenage version of the lovable Guardian.
Here is the wonderful concept art of Teenage Groot, courtesy of Francisco’s Facebook page:
As you can see, Teenage Groot is seen wearing some blue headphones and holding a certain device in his hands. During the penultimate post-credits sequence, we see Teenage Groot without headphones on playing what Peter Quill/Star-Lord described as a “mind-numbing game”.
Interestingly enough, this concept art of Teenage Groot features a significantly less messy room. Although we do see some of his branches around him, in the film itself, there are branches flooding his room.
