Although John Connor hasn’t made a dramatic entrance in any of the Terminator: Dark Fate footage that’s debuted so far, Edward Furlong is certainly excited to be back on board with the franchise. Edward Furlong is returning to the role he brought to life in 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day, but he’s staying quiet on how his role affects Terminator: Dark Fate. When asked about his role in the sequel by TheArnoldFans at Silicon Valley Comic-Con, Edward Furlong expressed his excitement at coming back to play John Connor once again:
“I’m not allowed to say anything, but yeah, yeah man, I mean it’s a small role but it’s, you know, I’m in there, man! I’m in there. I’m glad to be back on it, I’m really, really happy to be doing it. It was like a blessing man. I was very excited you know, like really, uh, yeah I was trying to turn my life around at that point – so I mean it was uh, it was kinda a good call to get, you know? It kinda felt like a gift from all that you know, plus I was supposed to do the other Terminator but I done f***** that s*** up, So I gotta tell you, I was proud.”
After Edward Furlong’s infamous personal troubles, it’s great to see that he’s been given the chance to come back to one of his most iconic roles. And although Edward Furlong was careful not to reveal too much about John Connor’s role in the film, he’s clearly pleased to be stepping into those boots again. If Edward Furlong’s return isn’t enough to get fans excited, maybe it’s time to rewatch the Terminator: Dark Fate trailer with Linda Hamilton’s explosive entrance.
