Tessa Thompson Predicts Valkyrie Would Beat Killmonger In A Fight

Tessa Thompson and Michael B. Jordan might be an item in Creed II, but keep in mind that they also both play parts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Well, played, as far as Michael B. Jordan is concerned, given how Killmonger dies in the climax of Black Panther, while Thompson’s Valkyrie was last seen in Thor: Ragnarok. So it’s unlikely that the two characters will ever conceivably cross paths outside of some random person’s fan-fiction, but that doesn’t stop them from being asked about it.

With Creed II now in theaters, Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson have been speaking with the press about their film. How could they not, after all? But in one video from IGN, Thompson and Jordan interview one another. The very last question that Jordan reads is who would win in a fight: Killmonger or…well, Jordan doesn’t finish the question. I guess you can assume it’s Valkyrie, given the actors, but Jordan doesn’t get a chance to say so. Why? Because Thompson immediately says Valkyrie. Well, that’s confidence right there.

You can watch their exchange in the video below, with the Killmonger and Valkyrie question at the 2:02 mark-

Again, Jordan doesn’t say who Killmonger would fight with, but Thompson’s confidence in Valkyrie’s ability to dominate Killmonger should speak volumes. However, once more, the odds that these two would ever cross paths appears slim to none, given how Killmonger is dead. Plus, Valkyrie has fought Hela alongside the likes of Thor and Bruce Banner, so she’s got an edge that way. Not to mention that she’s, you know, an Asgardian.

Not that you should ever expect these two to come to blows in the Marvel Cinematic Universe anytime soon, and when asked by Jordan if she wants to even reconsider, Thompson does not. She’s that sure about Valkyrie coming out on top in a fictional match between her and Killmonger. Either way, this won’t come to pass, so it’s just a dream for now. But then, hypothetical matches between two characters are nothing new. Perhaps if Killmonger was resurrected in Avengers: Untitled, it might be possible. Probably not.

What do you think, though? Who would win in a brawl between Killmonger and Valkyrie? Let us know in the comments below.

In the meantime, you can see Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson on screen now in Creed II, which is currently playing in theaters.
