Thanos’ Snap Was Originally Planned For ‘Avengers: Endgame’

In the crazy world of Hollywood, plans can change on a moments notice and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is no exception as Thanos’ big snap was originally intended to happen in Avengers: Endgame.

During a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Avengers: Infinity War co-writer Stephen McFeely revealed that in the early drafts of the film, Thanos’ big decimating snap was supposed to happen at the end of the first act of Avengers: Endgame and not the end of Avengers: Infinity War. It was an idea that they apparently tossed around for a while during that early period:

We had so much story in those early drafts of Infinity War that, if anything, we thought we maybe shouldn’t do The Snap until the end of act one of Endgame.

Later on, Marve Studio President Kevin Feige revealed that he was the one who pushed for Thanos’ snap to happen at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, revealing that it was something they had been talking about for years:

We talked about that ending for years and years and years… It was the reason to adapt Infinity Gauntlet. What was the most shocking thing we could do? End the movie with the Snap.

From the look of things, the latest Avengers film could have ended in a very different way.

What do you all make of these comments? Should Avengers: Infinity War have ended before Thanos’ big snap? Was it perfect the way it was? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
